Global commentator – Feb 23
During February we secured four high profile global media commentary opportunities for long standing client, Source, a research and strategy firm for the professional services sector.
First, we successfully pitched Source’s global tax advisory market data to Bloomberg Tax.
We then worked with Ed Tadros on The Australian Financial Review on a piece looking at the inner workings of EY, as it drove forward Project Everest, which intends to split the firm into two – audit and consulting.
Finally, we worked with two separate Financial Times journalists, to first provide Source commentary and data for this feature looking at staff retention in the consulting sector. Then we arranged comment on job cuts at McKinsey and KPMG – as the boom in consulting may be coming to an end – as clients move to reduce costs and battle inflation. In this FT feature, Fiona Czerniawska, CEO of Source said:
“Frantic hiring by consultants in the past 18 months had been reminiscent of the surge in recruitment during the dotcom boom more than two decades ago, which ended in mass job cuts. I think we’ll see more [redundancies] than we saw in Covid but not as much as we saw in 2002 because firms are more circumspect about the reputational damage of letting large groups of people go.”
