AI Experts – July 25
This month’s coverage for global technology recruiter, Harvey Nash was dominated by news commentary relating to AI Skills, with pieces in TechRound, ZDNet.com, National Technology News, FS Tech and Computer Weekly.
More specifically, Bev White, CEO of Nash Squared provided her views to ZDNet.com on what a successful manager looks like in an age of agentic AI, by saying: “Rather than just responding to prompts, agentic AI will increasingly take the lead and manage whole processes on its own. This situation raises new questions and requirements for leaders.”
Ankur Anand, CIO of Nash Squared also commented in Computer Weekly, about managing the process of coding with GenAI, by firstly pointing out that the AI skills shortage is the biggest in tech for 15 years.
He added: “AI skills include understanding how to leverage the platforms and CRM, learning around prompts and ‘the responsibility that comes with that’, including auditing the results prior to use. GenAI skills are in demand for developers, product managers and project managers as well as data quality, data lineage and data governance skillsets.
Below that, Nash Squared’s May report found increased demand for Python developers with large language model (LLM) knowledge, for example. GenAI has become a ‘nice to have’ in many other job descriptions too. This places increasing demands on the tech team as it’s not about just one area.”
Finally, to finish the month off in style, we supported on writing and placing this Harvey Nash viewpoint in Computing Magazine, looking at the most in demand AI roles in tech.
