GCC Governments spend US$1bn – March 20

Just before the UK government announced the Covid-19 lockdown, we launched the Source Global Research GCC Consulting Market Report, which found that governments across the region continued to invest heavily in consulting support to diversify their economies and reduce their dependency on oil revenues.

The report found that public sector work rose 10.2% to pass US$1billion in revenues (US$1.1billion) for the first time in 2019.

Data and commentary from the report, which also found that the wider GCC consulting market grew strongly – up 9.9% to US$3.3bn in 2019, was featured in The National, Arabian Business and Trade Arabia. We also supplied a viewpoint to AMEinfo.com.

Zoë Stumpf, Head of Consulting Market Trends at Source, said on the day of launch:

“We expect further growth in consulting demand right across the region to the end of 2020. In the large Saudi Arabia market, there’s a huge amount of support needed to shape the detailed strategies underpinning Vision 2030, and further work will be required to turn those strategies into reality.”
