Tech commentators – Oct 25

For global technology recruiters, Harvey Nash we’ve had a busy month creating lots of media commentary opportunities for their experts.

Just to highlight a few, we achieved three pieces quoting Harvey Nash CIO Ankur Anand, which included two pieces in CIO Magazine, first discussing the steps CIOs can take to progress in the AI age, and then how in a time when there are more corporate IT leaders, there is a greater need to coexist.

Ankur was then quoted in ZDNet.com about the good ways for digital professionals to future-proof their IT careers.

Ankur said in the piece that successful up-and-coming leaders must embrace a mindset of continuous learning, stating: “Be curious — explore and learn about new technologies and techniques, especially AI. Look for opportunities to utilise AI and experiment with it.”

Professionals must also avoid being fearful of change and should regularly audit their own capabilities, considering their current skills and the skills they’ll need.

Ankur added: “Don’t only think about hard skills and certifications, although these are important. Think about soft skills, as these are becoming ever more critical as specialisms and silos break down. Critical thinking, emotional intelligence, communication, creativity, stakeholder management — these are all vital attributes.”

To cap off a busy month, we also supported Daniel Neaves, Senior Recruitment Consultant at Harvey Nash in writing this viewpoint for Computing Magazine, looking at the data roles you need to underpin AI.
